Icarus hones his interview technique.
Some readers may recall that at the end of last year, your correspondent found himself in something of a predicament. Rosemary, our Head of Human Capital, had come up with a crazy plan to make us more open to change and innovation. We heads of department are to be interviewed by consultants – of Rosemary’s choosing, natch– to test our capacity for flexible and adaptive thinking. This takes the form of a simulated job interview.
Fortunately, Rosemary’s attempts to put her plan into action were arrested by the firm’s Christmas festivities, which these days seem to occupy the whole of December. Ironic really, as it’s Rosemary and her ilk in HR who have tried to stop us doing anything useful at that time of year – in the interests of achieving ‘work-life balance’.
