It was at our executive committee that it was suggested we should adopt dress-down Fridays. The source of the proposal was distinctly odd: our head of IT, a bearded bloke who as far as I know has never been seen in anything other than jumper and jeans. Nobody had ever questioned that, because he and his team are troglodytes who don’t get out much and would, obviously, never be allowed to meet a client. Who knows? Perhaps it’s a private quest for sartorial legitimacy.
