Legal directory rankings matter because of the symbiotic relationship they have with a firm’s marketing objectives and its brand and profile in certain industries and practice areas.

Chambers and The Legal 500 are both positioned as client guides. Whilst it is certainly true that GCs are aware of directory rankings and use them in their decision-making, it might not be quite as clear-cut for clients without a legal background.
