All organisations are keen to identify that ‘thing’ which makes them unique and allows them to stand out in a sea of sameness. For Thomson Snell & Passmore, it’s the fact that we are officially ‘the oldest law firm in operation’, says Eleanor Pinkerton.
While this accolade is something of a double-edged sword, it is still an achievement that is uniquely ours and that has shaped our branding to various degrees since law firms were given the green light to start marketing their services in 1986. In fact, the foreword to our very first marketing brochure in 1988 opens by highlighting the fact that the roots of the firm go back over 400 years.
