Data security and confidentiality policy

Online privacy and security is very important to PM Forum

GDPR Policy

As a professional body that supports the growth, productivity and prosperity of the UK’s largest and arguably most successful sector – professional services – and acts as the recognised independent voice to Government on behalf of professional firms and mid-market organisations in other sectors, the PM Forum considers that it has a legitimate interest to retain, with suitable security, relevant personal data of those that work for or are otherwise linked to sectors represented, irrespective of membership status.

The Forum further considers that it has a legitimate interest to inform their contacts of Forum activities under five headings: networking, events, magazine, surveys and representation, but requires formal consent to send information on general content such as newsletters.

Should a contact request deletion of their personal data from the Forum database, sufficient data will be retained to permit de-duplication against those added in the future.

Personal information collection

When you are on www.pmforum.co.uk or other PM Forum sites, and are asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with Practice Management International LLP alone unless stated otherwise.

We may collect the following information from our visitors:

•    IP addresses for analytics purposes (we do not store these with your profile or membership record)

•    Any information volunteered by the visitor, such as name, organisation, address, email address.

If you provide us with personal information (for example, when registering on the site) your details are stored securely and used only for the purpose for which you have signed up.

What does PM Forum do with personal information?

We process the information that we collect to tailor PMF services, track sector trends and keep you informed of current and future activities and services provided by the PM Forum.

We will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information, except when we have your permission to do so, or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.  We may share individual information to our agents for mail distribution purposes and such agents will be bound not to further transmit this information or use it in any other way. From time to time, we agree with other likeminded organisations to write to some of each other’s supporters, for the mutual benefit of both; in this case marketing material is exchanged but not your individual information.

Information security

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that your information is treated securely. Unfortunately, it is not possible to guarantee the total security of any data transmitted over the Internet. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you therefore do this at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we apply our best efforts to ensure its security on our systems.
